On Friday, 26 May, at 17.00 a solo exhibition of Kaliningrad amber artist Alexander Korolyov is opened. Works created by this master are known far beyond the borders of Kaliningrad oblast. There will be goblets, caskets, compositions, a series of Easter eggs and other items of jewellery and stone-carving art at the exposition.
The artist finds inspiration in masterpieces of the world art, using as guidance works of masters of the Renaissance, the Baroque and legacy of the Carl Faberge firm for his artistry. He uses amber, precious metals, cold enamel in his works.
Alexander Korolyov was born on 26 January 1951 in Baltiysk, Kaliningrad oblast. He served in the Navy. Since 1987 he began to work with amber professionally.He is a constant participant and laureate of regional, all-Russian and international exhibitions and contests of decorative and applied arts. His works are part of collection of the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum, as well as private ones. In 2014 the artist was distinguished with the honourary award of the Carl Faberge Memorial Foundation – the Small Badge of the Mikhail Perkhin Order, a year later he received the title "Chief Master".
The exhibition "There is amber light in my palms" will be open for visitors until 25 June.
