Events on the occasion of the International Jeweller's Day took place on 31 January in Kaliningrad Amber Museum. The deputy director of the Amber Museum Irina Toropova told about specifics of jeweller's creative work, about materials, techniques and technologies used in jewellery, about problems of artistic conception realization in works of decorative and applied art at the lecture "From sketch to project".
Then all comers were invited to the excursion "Jewellery mastery: traditions and innovations" through the exhibitions "Contemporary Jewellery Art" from the collection of All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folks Art (Moscow) and "Kostroma Goldsmiths: history and modernity. Craft of Krasnoye Selo" from the collection of Kostroma State History-Architectural and Art Museum and Park.
The thematical programme was concluded with the workshop of jewellers. The leading specialists of Kaliningrad jewellery studio "Darvin" showed work of the last model of milling tool and laser metal cutter.
