The exhibition "The Way to Creativity" is opened in the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum on 25 March at 17.00. The exposition will present works created by students and teachers of the Kaliningrad Art and Industrial College. There are wooden works (caskets, souvenirs and decorative panels made and painted in classic traditions of Russian folk crafts), jewellery and interior objects among them.

Art and Industrial College was established on the basis of "Quartz" factory in 1961. Department for Decorative, Applied and Folk Arts was opened in 1992. Today, education is conducted in several specialties and professions: folk art artist, designer, jeweller, miniaturist. Annually, this department is graduated from by about three hundred specialists.

In 2000, in the college was created science and technology infrastructure for training jewellers and the Russia's only educational amber craft workshop. Students of this direction take part in educational programs of regional, national and international projects organized by the Amber Museum. Foremost among them are the International Biennial of Amber Artworks "Alatyr" and the All-Russian Jewellery and Stone Carving Art Contest. The workshops are made by the leading jewellers of Russia and Europe demonstrating their skills in processing of various materials, different design methods of decorative and jewellery art.

The three-party cooperation between the Amber Museum, Art and Industrial College and president of the Claudia Augusta Project, jewellery artist Konrad Laimer resulted in creation of an educational project "Jewellery design: Naturns, Italy – Kaliningrad, Russia" that has been realized since 2009. The results and effectiveness of the project in the disclosure of the creative possibilities of Kaliningrad and Italian students make it popular also today.

The exhibition will work until 17 April.
