On 26 December at 11.00, presentation of the project "Touch of the Light" takes place in the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum. The project is one of the winners of the annual contest of creative projects and initiatives of the Ministry for Culture and Tourism of the Kaliningrad region, having public innovative character.
Goal of the project is to increase accessibility of the information on Baltic amber as source of knowledge about the past of the Earth for visually impaired and blind people in the Kaliningrad region.
In the course of project realisation, audio descriptions (descriptions of the museum main show pieces for blind people) were prepared, a tactile miniature of the Dohna Tower was made from sculpture plastic, as well as portable tactile copies of some show pieces from the collection of the Amber Museum made from polyether resins and Baltic amber.
At the presentation, miniature of the tower will be demonstrated personally by its creators – Mikhail and Olga Shu (Moscow), ones of the leading specialists in this area. Their works are on display in the A.S.Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art "Garage", Museums of the Moscow Kremlin, Museum of Russian Impressionism, and others.
