The exhibition of Russian silver artworks has opened

The exhibition "Russian Silver Artworks from the 16th – early 20th centuries" from the collection of the State Museum Association "Artistic Culture of the Russian North", Arkhangelsk has opened in the Amber Museum. In the exposition are ecclesiastical items: embossed icon frames and their fragments, chalices, as well as household items used by peasants and aristocrats: candle-sticks, caskets, evening bag, and jewellery. These items were brought to the museum collection from private collections of residents of Arkhangelsk and other Russian northern cities and villages. Many of them were given from generation to generation for several centuries and saved history of certain churches or families.
