A week of meet-the-artist-events

Every day from 9 to 12 August at 16.00 meet-the-artist-events with Kaliningrad artists laureates and diploma winners of the Third All-Russian Jewellery and Stone Carving Art Contest dedicated to the 170th anniversary of Carl Faberge (1846–1920) take place in the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum.

Artists will tell about their works submitted for the competition, techniques of amber treatment, answer questions of the guests.

9 August. Alexandr Korolyov, winner of the special diploma for of the artistic interpretation of the legacy of Carl Faberge from the jury member, academic secretary of the Carl Faberge Russian Memorial Fund V.Skurlov for the amber composition "Blowball", 2015.

10 August. Mikhail Vorobyov, diploma winner in the category "Best Amber Work" or the composition "Blowball", 2016.

11 August. Olga Tsyplakova, diploma winner in the category "Metaphor" for brooches No 1 and No 6 from the series "Inclusion", 2016.

12 August. Lana Yegorova, laureate in the category "Metaphor" for the composition "Celestial Ship", 2015.

Meet-the-artist-events will take place at the exhibition of the contest works. There are  around 500 works created by 150 artists from 13 cities – Kaliningrad, Kazan, Kostroma, Makhachkala, Nizhniy Tagil, Rostov-on-Don, Rybinsk, Saint Petersburg, Togliatti, Tula, Ufa, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg in the exposition.

Skills of the contest participants were considered by the professional jury consisting of leading art historians, experts in the field of jewellery and stone-carving art of Russia, jury chairman – Moscow jeweller Gennady Lentsov.
