Kaliningrad Amber Museum, initiator and curator of the project, which was financed by the Ministry of Culture of Kaliningrad Region

Kaliningrad delegation, which was led by director of Kaliningrad Amber Museum Tatiana Suvorova, included two business organizations that use amber by creation of their production: Emelyanov and Sons Amber-Redwood Manufactory (commercial director – Ilya Emelyanov) and Design-atelier Valery (director – Tamara Kireeva).

The Museum had an aim to acquaint wide European audience, professionals and enthusiasts, collectioners and dealers with Kaliningrad as center of Baltic amber extraction and treatment, with business organizations of the region that create works, which are second to none in the whole world.

International Exhibition of Cultural Heritage is a prestigious event, which united this year about 250 specialists, connected to reconstruction, preservation and development of old-time technologies, and welcomed about 20000 visitors. In Gabriel Hall at Russian 20 sq. meters stand were presented furniture set for playing chess: cabinet, table, two chairs of water seasoned oak and sapele incrusted with amber, made of amber and silver chess pieces, two hand-made decorative pictures (producer – Emelyanov and Sons Manufactory) and collection of furmantuas embroidered with lace and amber (producer – atelier Valery). They delighted and admired the public and attracted great interest of professionals and press.

The theme of the Exhibition of Cultural Heritage 2011, which has been hold by the Chamber of Arts and Crafts since 1995, is cultural heritage in cities, possibility of its usage in architecture and furniture. Conferences and debates, skills demonstration during short-term work-shops, pedagogical workshops for children were dedicated to this theme.

Except for presented instruments and technologies visitors found a lot of educational programs, also academic and scientific literature.

Kaliningraders’ opportunity to expose at prestigious International Exhibition of Cultural Heritage in Paris is great mean of development of own potential.
