For the fourth time the contest of jewellery and stone-carving art takes place in Kaliningrad. This year it has been decided to dedicate it to the mineralogical treasures of Russia – impressive natural resources, which exceed many regions of the world in quality and quantity, as well as to remind of our old traditions of working precious, semiprecious and ornamental stones. There will be works of artists from 16 regions of the country.
The biennial of jewellery art has been held in the Amber Museum since 2012. At the exhibitions of the First, Second, and Third All-Russian Contests there were works by jewellers from Kaliningrad, Kazan, Kostroma, Makhachkala, Moscow, Nizhniy Tagil, Rostov-on-Don, Rybinsk, Saint Petersburg, Samara, Togliatti, Tula, Ufa, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg, Zlatoust. The contest will result in the exhibition "Minerals of the World in the Art of Contemporary Artists" that is opening in the Amber Museum on 8 June. One of the bright events of the contest days will be opening of the parallel exhibition from ANNA NOVA Jewellery House. Its founders Anna and Oleg Barinovs see their mission in preservation and development of high-level artistic traditions of the national stone-carving and jewellery art.
Traditionally, a scientific seminar is taking place within the contest, also an educational programme is going to be realized for students of the Kaliningrad Art and Industrial College.
