Lecture "The City Geomentry"

Lectures on art history for students, designers, and artists are resumed in the Amber Museum. The first meeting on 20 February is dedicated to the city geometry.
Geometry is a branch of mathematics concerned with space structures and relations, as well as their generalization. At the lecture by Irina Toropova, art historian, deputy director for research in the Amber Museum, expert of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, cities on our planet will be observed as spacial structures. The audience will see pictures of some urban settlements from the bird's eye view, they will discuss together with the lecturer their arrangement and unique geometrical form. Special attention will be given to the French Neuf-Brisach and Italian Palmanova and Montereggioni.
The lecture starts at 16.00.
Attendance – 200 rubles or by the entire ticket.
The lecture are held within the preparation for the Fifth Russian Contest of Jewellery and Lapidary in Kaliningrad (22 June – 6 September 2020).
