From 10 to 13 February, lectures on the origin of amber, its history and methods of artistic treatment in different time periods will be organised in the museum. The events are taking place upon an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade of the Kaliningrad region.

On 10 February at 15.00, the research associate of the Amber Museum Viktoria Rezchikova delivers a lecture "The State Amber Manufactory in Königsberg". Then at 17.00, the leading research associate Zoia Kostiashova speaks to the topic "Extraction of Amber in the Baltic Region Countries".

On 11 February at 15.00, a new book "Microworld of Amber. Palaeosystematics" is presented by its author, candidate of biological sciences and senior research associate of the museum Andranik Manukian. The researcher works on insect inclusions in Baltic amber. The book is of interest for amber collectors and the wide audience of readers. At 17.00, the research associate Vitalii Alekseev delivers a lecture about the "amber forest" and tells, how and when the Baltic gem was formed.

On 12 February at 17.00, a keeper of the museum items Vera Popova speaks to the topic "Artistic Treatment of Amber in 16-18 centuries".

On 13 February at 17.00, the research associate of the museum Leonid Efremov tells about amber in ancient cultures..
