"J.A.R. – Legend of the Jewellery World"

On 19 November at 18.30 the lecture "J.A.R. – Legend of the Jewellery World" within the lecture series "Jewellery Encyclopedia" takes place in the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum. It will be conducted by the museum's deputy director for research, art expert, candidate of pedagogical sciences Irina Toropova.
Joel Arthur Rosenthal (J.A.R.) is an outstanding jeweller of our age. Specialists and admirers of the jewellery art call him "Faberge of the 20th century", "main innovator and experimenter of the 20th century", "Number 1 jeweller"... The master of world renown, who has been avoiding active interaction with public and jewellery artists, has had such a profound impact on the contemporary jewellery making art that many critic call the late 20th – early 21st century "Epoch of Rosenthal".
Combining the most original discoveries of masters of the previous century in his creative work, J.A.R. has not just shaped his own stunning with its innovativeness style, but also has set the new criteria of the mastery in creating jewellery artworks. The highest quality of processing precious and non-precious materials, impressive design, deeply poetic variety of ideas and themes of his works, all this originated a wave of imitations to the jeweller of the world renown among independent masters and famous jewellery houses.
During the lecture pictures of works created by J.A.Rosenthal, his predecessors, followers and imitators will be demonstrated.
