Art market "On the rampART"

On 11 August the Amber Museum is inviting you to the art market "On the rampART". It is held from 12.00 to 19.00 in the open area behind the Dohna Tower. The event is timed to coincide with the Eighth International Biennial of Amber Artworks "Alatyr 2019".

Design market of jewellery by young designers designers from Kaliningrad
The event aims to attract attention to young Kaliningrad designers, who design and make jewellery from various materials. Among them are minimalist jewellery from Baltic amber, earrings made using the enamel technique; ceramic brooches, badges, and a lot of other things.
The design market gives special attention to adornments with amber – minimalist ones made from white metals, ones from brass to the Prussian theme, or in combination with wood. Only this day guests of the event can visit the exhibition "BOTANICA" for a special price.

Leisure zone
All guests of the art market can spend their time at the leisure zone: sit on the pillows, enjoy the view to the Dohna Tower and have lunch. Background music at the event will be provided by Dj Morrison and Dj Greta Bowie, a special person will announce all the parts of the programme.

Cycle quest "Amber Pedals"
The cycle quest will be held around Kaliningrad. The start point bicyclists will find out from the izi.travel application on the day of the event. Then, solving the tasks, they will be able to visit those places of the city that are connected with the history of development of the amber industry.

Stage of the project "The Park Ring"
A workshop of city interventions for children and adults (plain air with an exhibition of children's pictures, games, and creative tasks, all-winners lottery, workshops in making amulets with amber, brass pendants).

Workshop in lettering
Lettering or "drawing letters" is a relatively new and increasingly popular areas of design. Inscriptions on black chalkboards in cafes, postcards with compositions of letters – it is all about it. Artist Natalia Chernova will tell about basics of lettering, and every participant is going to practice creating a nice inscription to the summer theme.

"Code of the City. History in Symbols"
Themed guided tours (by prior registration) around the rampart and to the viewing platform of the Dohna Tower. The tour will be conducted by Gennadii Semenov, author of the project "Code of the City. History in Symbols", winner of the contest of V.Potanin Charitable Foundation.

From 15.00 to 17.00
Workshop "Clothing Painting"
The artist Cri Stof will tell about details of art painting on different kinds of fabrics. Every participant can bring a piece of clothing, on which he or she will paint (by prior registration).

"Sun in the Palms"
Creation of a tactile book for visually impaired children based on legends of amber origin. The book will be given to the library at the Residential School, where children with visual impairments study.

From 16.30 to 18.00
Workshop in manga drawing
The artist Maria Sukhanova is going to tell about what manga is, when it was firs drawn, why it became so popular, and how to draw a character in this style (by prior registration).

Concert of Kaliningrad indie group Hellomishel

There is a group https://vk.com/navalom39, in the social media, where information about members of the market will quickly appear.

In case of rainy weather some events of the programme can be cancelled.
