Lecture "Quartz. The Many Faces of Beauty" takes place within the lecture series "Jewellery Encyclopedia" in the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum on 19 January at 18.30. It will be conducted by the museum's deputy director for research, art expert, candidate of pedagogical sciences Irina Toropova.

Being the most spread mineral on the Earth, quartz is presented by over 20 varieties. Almost all of them have jewellery value and have been used accordingly throughout the history of mankind. Rock crystal, amethyst, citrine, opal, chalcedony, aventurine, heliotrope and other kinds of quartz will be shown at the lecture both as illustrations revealing the astonishing beauty of the mineral and photographs of jewellery artworks from the most ancient civilizations until nowadays.

Ticket price to the lecture including visit of all Amber Museum's expositions on any day of the current month:
for adults – 200 RUB;
for students – 100 RUB;
for schoolchildren – 80 RUB.
