In the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum from 12 February till 8 March works the exhibition "Gallery of masters" from its collection that includes over 15 000 objects.

Art pieces created in the 1990–2010s by the artists from Germany, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, France and Japan are presented in the exhibition. These works, that enriched the museum's collection as a result of its active project and exhibitional work during the last decade, demonstrate the variety of methods, approaches and traditions of amber treatment appeared in different national schools of Europe and Asia.

Decorative and physical properties of amber allow to use it for creation of artistic works using such techniques as carving, polishing, pressing, colouring, composing and Florentine mosaic. Today as also in ancientry the sunstone is used for creation of jewellery, decorative and applied artworks, however the advanced technology enables to create artworks that have no analogs in the history of amber treatment neither in appearance, nor in technique.

There are works as of the authors, who have great experience in working with amber, so of the ones, who didn't know about its existence until recently, presented in the exhibition. It is not an overstatement to say that amber unites people from all over the world – artists, masters, experts and admireres of this wonderful material – witness of the living past of our planet.
