A lecture "History of jewellery. Head decorations" within the lecture series "Jewellery encyclopedia" takes place on 11 January at 11.00 in Kaliningrad Amber Museum. It will be conducted by the deputy director for research of the museum, art expert, candidate of pedagogical sciences Irina Toropova. he will preent as a slide-show various forms of head decorations, magnificent precious metals and stones compositions, interesting historical facts, particular features of national traditions of jewellery.
Hed deortion is a speil group of jewellery. Originated from the very antiquity they started to sign special, often privileged state of a person from the very beginning. Ceremonial character and purpose of such items were defined also by their main qualities - elitism, luxury and symbology. The largest group of such items includes royal, tsar, imperial and votive crowns. Now generally these historical artifacts, master pieces of jewellery art are kept in treasuries and museums.
A group that presents national forms is multiple and variable. For instance, according to islam traditions as man's, so woman's head should be covered. That is why special jewellery is created even for hijab.
