Opening of the exhibition "Alatyr 2017"

On 30 June opening of the contest exhibition "Architectural Chronic of the World" of the Seventh International Biennial of Amber Artworks "Alatyr 2017" and the festive ceremony of winners awarding took place in the museum's inner yard.

"Alatyr 2017" is a programme event of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Kaliningrad oblast. Head of the Department for Arts, Museums and Educational Activity Yulia Matvienko said a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony. Director of the Foundation for Development of Industry of Kaliningrad oblast Dmitriy Chemakin also greeted the guests.

"Within "Alatyr" we are also presenting at the museum the exhibition of the restorer artists of the highest category Alexander Krylov, maitre of the Russian amber art, who was chosen jury chairman this year. We also made a parallel exhibition of the prize winners' works of the previous years biennials. And even though it is not a jubilee biennial, however 14 years of work on the project is a significant number. So the collection of prize works can be presented as an independent exhibition", – mentioned director of the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum Tatiana Suvorova.

The opening ceremony was followed by the presentation of works of the subsidiary company of the Kaliningrad Amber Combine AO "Yantarniy Yuvelierprom" and fashion show of the fur collection by the design-atelier of Tamara Kireeva "Valerie".

After awarding diplomas and prizes to curators and laureates of the biennial, all guests were invited to see the chosen works.
