The Night of Museums 2019 in the Amber Museum

This year the Amber Museum is preparing for the Night of Museums the programme "The Art to Reflect" dedicated tol the mysterious world of theatre.

The special event will be opened with a master class in acting at the stage in front of the gates – everyone will be offered to play a scene. In the same time a starting point of the cycle quest "Intermuseum Race" through the main sightseeings and not that known places of Kaliningrad will be announced, which is organised for the third time by the Amber Museum.

On the territory of the museum's outer yard the action starts traditionally at 20.00. Here guests will see several performances – a performance "Immersion" by Kaliningrad Regional Drama Theatre and Art Laboratory "Partisan Sapphire", a paper show, a play "Amber Castle", and a music performances. The main numbers of the programme will be repeted every hour before midnight.

On every floor of the Russia’s only Amber Museum there will be Museum team members ready to tell in detail about the most interesting showpieces and to conduct a guided tour at the new exhibitions. From 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. guests will receive booklets with the quest “Proscenium”, winners will get awards from the Amber Museum and the Drama Theatre. Also in the exhibition halls of the basement floor there will be interactive stages opened – “Green Room”, “Dressing Room”, and “The Screen Writer’s Workshop”.

One can have some rest between the excursions in the inner yard, where a barrel drummers show takes place with the participation of funny and charming heroes of the night – the Shining Dragon, and the Sea Serpent. After that guests will be met by actors from the theatrical laboratory “ActOpus”, and they immersing the audience into the play, made of fragments from famous  films – “The Great Gatsby”, “Pulp Fiction”, “Only Lovers Left Alive”, will walk through the museum’s exposition. In the end of the play spectators will have the opportunity to save the main character by answering the question correctly.

The Programme of the Night of Museums will be concluded by act that is especially impressive with the cobblestone pavement and walls of the fortress tower in the background – fire show by the extreme club “Baltic Raven”.

We would like to remind that traditionally the action “The Night of Museums” is held in the night from Friday to Saturday in all Kaliningrad museums and it is dated to coincide with the International Day of Museums.
