Lecture "Amber and its Imitations"

To popularize knowledge about amber and familiarize with the ways of its identification, the leading research associate of the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum Zoya Kostyashova delivered a lecture for students of the Kaliningrad State Technical University on 6 December 2016.

Lecture-presentation acquainted KSTU students with amber imitations made of natural and synthetic materials, with ways of identification of those, private and state collections of imitations of works and raw amber and gave a couple practical advices in counterfeits recognition. The lecturer put an increased focus on production of imitations in Kaliningrad oblast.

The lecture was organized by the Center of aesthetical development and cultural-creative initiatives of KSTU students. Due to the students' interest to the regional theme and acquiring more extensive knowledge about the Baltic succinite, as well as the possibility of its practical use in different spheres, the series of lectures will be continued.
