The lecture "Jewellery collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art" takes place within the lecture series "Jewellery Encyclopedia" in the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum on 15 February at 18.30. It will be conducted by the Deputy Director for Research of the museum, art expert, candidate of pedagogical sciences Irina Toropova.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art – one of the biggest art museums of the world was opened for public in February 1872. Museum building are located along the so-called Museum Mile in New York, the frontage faces the Fifth Avenue. The museum's collection includes over 2 millions of items and is one of the largest in the world. Collections of jewellery art comprise of works which demonstrate its development at all stages of human history from the ancientry to the present day. Unique in its completeness and quality is the collection of jewellery of the pre-Columbian civilizations.

Ticket price including admission to the permanent exposition of the Amber Museum on any day until the end of the month:
for adults – 200 RUB.
for students – 100 RUB.
for school students – 80 RUB.
