Lecture "Enamel in Jewellery Art"

On 25 May it will be told about the use of enamel in jewellery art. The lecture will be conducted by the art expert, the museum's deputy director for research, candidate of pedagogical sciences Irina Toropova within the project "Jewellery Encyclopedia".

Jewellery art, having appeared in the far ancientry, shows us, how technologies are developed in society. New methods of metal working, precious stones cutting, ways of enamel making have been appearing with the course of time. They tell about the national, historical style of jewellery art, about author innovations. Enamel has a special place in the jewellery art – it is a material, which an item consists of, and a technology of its creation at the same time.

The audience will learn about technological and esthetical kinds of enamel, which have been founding use in jewellery since ancientry until today. They will also see slides with artworks of masters, artists and famous jewellery houses of the world from 18th to 21st century.
