The International conference "Natural History Museums and Their Role in Education and Science" was held from 27 to 30 October in the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev. National Museum of National History NAS of Ukraine,  Museum of Natural History of the Vasily Karazin Kharkiv National University, Section of natural history of ICOM of Ukraine also participated in the conference organization.

There were geological and biological sections.

The leading research associate of the museum Zoya Kostyashova and senior research associate, candidate of biological sciences Andranik Manukyan took part in the geological section. Zoya Kostyashoiva spoke to the theme "The One Mineral Museum", she told about building of the collection of the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum. Andranik Manukyan made a report "Collection of Amber with Inclusions of Terrestrial Invertebrates in the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum".

29 oral reports and 31 poster ones were made within the geological section.

Reports of the museum's speakers aroused a keen interest by the conference participants. Literature about amber published by the Amber Museum was highly demanded, including art oriented books.
