Kaliningrad will participate in the International Cultural Heritage Show in Paris for the fourth time. The Show has been held annually since 1995 in Paris in a large exhibition center Carrousel du Louvre (France). Traditionally curator of the project is Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum, which has been assigned a task by the regional government to present the main fortune of our land - Baltic gem - in Russia and abroad, as well as to promote amber works at the world market.
From 6 to 9 November of this year various beauty of the sunstone will be demonstrated in works of Kaliningrad artists from the creative association "Prussian Honey" in Paris. The artists incarnate modern interpretation of ethnics of north-western Russia and Baltic nations. The whole production of the company is notable for its distinctive character and originality by being an outstanding example of preservation and development of aesthetic traditions in decorative and applied art, which is consistent with the subject of the Show.
International Cultural Heritage Show is one of the most prestigious in France. It is conducted by the Chamber of Artistic Crafts. This year the organizers gathered the record number of participants - 350. Motto of this year – "Transmission". There is a great depth of meaning in this short word: learning of crafts traditions of different countries, preservation and transfer of experience from generation to another, demonstration of achievements. Purpose of the event is to present exceptional things – restored or newly made using old technologies and materials – to wide audience, professionals and art admirers.
Mission of Kaliningrad delegation is to show once again beauty of the Baltic gem and work of Kaliningrad artists, whose mastery is without doubt worth noticing. For the first time conference that is held within the Show includes presentation of our region and its wealth - amber. The presentation will be made by deputy director for research of the Amber Museum Irina Toropova.
