Project "Amber Coast Motives" report presentation

Report presentation of the musical and poetical project "Amber Coast Motives" took place in the new hall of Kaliningrad Regional Musical S.V.Rachmaninov College on 29 November. The project was realized be Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum in cooperation with Kaliningrad Regional Musical S.V.Rachmaninov College with the support of LLC "LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft". Idea author and project leader is senior research fellow of the Amber Museum Irina Polyakova.
Opening the event director of the Amber Museum Tatyana Suvorova mentioned that musical and poetical interpretation of the amber theme completes it in humane context, which is researched by the project author. Tatyana Suvorova expressed deep gratitude for the financial support to LLC "LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft", for productive creative cooperation – to Kaliningrad Regional Musical S.V.Rachmaninov College.
The honoured culture worker of Lithuania, vice president of Society for science, history and culture Kistutis Subacius took part in the event with the report "Ancestors of Sudovians – the best amber fishermen on Sambia". In the presentation of the musical and poetic composition “Amber Coast Motives” – students and teachers of the musical college, as well as other Kaliningrad musicians and vocalists. Works of the Italian composer Gaspare Spontini (1774–1851), of the German composers Friedrich Heinrich Himmel (1765–1814), Alexander Fesca (1820–1849), Franz Glaeser (1798–1861), as well as music versions of "Songs of amber fishermen" created by the modern Kaliningrad composers within the project were played. Poems about amber fishermen written by Maximilian von Schenkendorf (1783-1817) were performed by the honoured artist of Russia Anatoliy Lukin. Lada Syrovatko made poetic translations from French and German. Musical part of the project was prepared under the guidance of music expert, honoured culture worker of Russian Federation, member of Journalists’ Union of Russian Federation Inna Dementieva.
The evening terminated in awarding of participants of the musical contest for the most interesting and original musical composition for the poems of L.Reza "Song of amber fishermen". Member of Composers’ Union of Russian Federation Ekaterina Izranova received diploma of the winner. Diplomas of participants were given to Vera Koshkina, Andrey Medvedev, Evgeniy Zentsov, Yuriy Febenchuk, Vitaliy Diyakov, Kirill Volkov.
Based on the results of the project 500 exemplars of the booklet “Amber Coast Motives” were published. All guests of the report presentation received it as a present.
