Traditionally theme of the contest exhibition is defined after the development direction of the UNESCO "Culture programme. The United Nations General Assembly declared 2017 the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development". The artists were offered to create works dedicated to architecture – theme of the contest is "Architectural Chronic of the World".

Ideologic content of a work is defined by its author: his/her philosophy, skills in working amber and other art materials.

The jury consists of the Danish designer Mette Saabye, historian of costume jewellery from Italy Bianca Cappello, professor of the Latvian Academy of Arts Juris Gagainis, Regina Makauskiene – curator of international projects of the Amber Museum in Lithuania, the honorable member of the Association of Jewellery Forms Artists from Poland Andrzej Szadkowski. Works will be considered in following categories: "Skills", "Creation of Artistic Image", "Innovation". There were elaborated some additional contest positions. One of them reminds of the 50th anniversary of organization of the worldwide renowned touristic itinerary "The Golden Ring of Russia". The unique architectural monuments of Kostroma, Ivanovo, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Suzdal, Pereslavl-Zalesskiy, Sergiev Posad reflect the history of Russian culture and embody the supreme achivements in art. The second special category "Pilgrimage Objects" is dedicated to more than material monuments, but also to the most ancient reason of traveling – approaching the holly territories and buildings for the spiritual renovation and veneration of relics.

The contest exhibition "Architectural Chronic of the World" – the most important part of the Kaliningrad Regional Amber Museum's project "Alatyr 2017" – is a unique opportunity to study and analyze the contemporary international trends in amber treatment.
