On 4 and 5 October, lectures were held within the International Biennial of Amber Artworks "Alatyr 2011" for students of Kaliningrad Art and Industrial College and group of Italian students that were on a study tour in Kaliningrad supported by the Amber Museum.
The deputy director for research of the Kaliningrad Amber Museum, member of the World Amber Council in Gdansk (Poland) Zoya Kostyashova prepared and delivered lectures "Contemporary state of amber extraction and treatment in Kaliningrad oblast", "Contemporary Russian experience in making religious items" and "History and practice of carrying the international contest "Alatyr".
