Event for people who reached the retirement
2017–2018

Last Friday of every month is the day of reduced-price admission to the museum for people of the retirement age. On this day members of the museum team conduct interactive programmes for elderly people – workshops, quizzes, themed excursions, intellectual games. The programme resonates with the people of the elder ager. Those who earlier took active part in various fields of the social activities, with time start to feel as if they were excluded from the public life. Both themed interactive programmes, and creative ones are all-purpose leisure activities, which contribute to self-expression,  reduction of social isolation, and give opportunity for active communication.

Interactive exploratory itineraries through the museum exposition and playing forms involve participants in the educational process and discussion of possible solutions for the coming tasks, which redounds the memory training, intellectual activity and, of course, companionship.

At the workshops and creative sessions while making simple souvenirs the guests gain new skills that allow them to vary their evening time, get a new hobby of just create amazing gifts to bring joy to their relatives and friends.

Excursion session through the exhibition of works by French artists.

29 November 2017 – programme "Amber Beam of the Sun"
Learning about the history of amber origin and existence. Educational quiz.

27 December 2017 – programme "Winter Fairytale"
Themed excursion at the museum's temporary exhibition. Telling about the New Year traditions.

31 January 2018 – programme "Paper Curve"
Themed excursion at the museum's temporary exhibition.
Learning the quilling technique and making a composition using it*.

28 February 2018 – programme "Feeling the Spring"
Themed excursion at the museum's temporary exhibition.
Workshop in making a postcard with a flower in iris folding technique*.

28 March 2018 – programme "The Magic Bird"
Themed excursion through the exhibition of works by students and teachers of the Art and Industrial College.
Workshop in national paintings*. 

25 April 2018 – programme "The Waltz of Flowers"
Themed excursion at the museum's temporary exhibition.
Creative session " Sea stones painting"*. 

30 May 2018 – programme "Everything will Become a Legend"
Themed excursion through the museum's permanent exposition. Telling about amber myths and legends and their reflection in the art.Making a souvenir for the memory of this visit to the museum*. 

27 June 2018 – programme "Stone Flower"
Themed excursion through the exhibition of the Fourth All-Russian Contest of Jewellery and Stone-Carving Art.

The events are held every last Wednesday of the month.

Reduced-price ticket for the programme and all exhibitions in the museum – 20 rub. (after showing the pension ID).

*The works created at the workshops participants take home for the memory.
